Seasonal Delights in Print!

While publishing electronically gives us the flexibility we need to get started, there is no substitute for holding a physical magazine. We’re excited to announce that you now have an option!

Thanks to Lulu.com and their Print-On-Demand service, we can now offer beautiful printed copies of Seasonal Delights Autumn 2007 issue to those of you who would like a printed magazine. It is printed in full color on high-quality paper, and we’re delighted with it.

Actually, there is a small problem with one of the colors used, and we’ve worked with Lulu to try to resolve it, without success. In the header of each page, the boxes of white text on a red background look a little odd (similar to the problem with the first attempt), though we’ve had to point it out to a few people who’ve seen the magazine. It apparently doesn’t stand out unless you’ve been working on it so hard you see the magazine in your sleep, like I do! The actual content of the magazine is completely unaffected, and all of the photos look gorgeous. We’ve tried to set the price based on the printing error.

Subscribers to the electronic edition of Seasonal Delights receive a $2 discount off the normal price of printing. If you’re a subscriber and are currently logged in, please check the details!

Pricing for the Autumn 2007 issue of Seasonal Delights is set at $12.95 for non-subscribers. In addition, if you haven’t yet made up your mind whether to subscribe or not (even after checking out the complete sample and list of benefits), you can purchase a download of the Autumn 2007 issue at the single-issue price of $6.95. We think it would be better to subscribe for the full year for a 28% discount, as well as the bonus material and access to the Forum, but now the choice is up to you!

  • I’m glad you’re getting your printing issues worked out. I’m okay with an online version but I do remember there were folks who left comments for you that they preferred print form. Whatever works is okay with me–it’s the ideas and opportunities for us to try new things that I enjoy in whatever format you choose.

  • The good news is that we plan to do both! The electronic subscriptions will continue, while those who really love print can also get that.

If there’s enough interest in print, we may be able to eventually offer print *subscriptions*, rather than one-at-a-time issues. We’ll see!

  • Would you all consider putting a subscribe button on your side bar to notify people of new posts?
    Blessings,

  • Melissa D. SC, I’m not sure what you mean. Notify people via email, maybe?

We post an update here on the site every Tuesday, for sure, and the Forum is updated every day throughout the day.

When there is *major* news, we send out a special email via mailing list (we’ve got one coming up soon, probably next week).

Beyond that, there is a “Feed It” option in the sidebar for folks who use a service like Bloglines or Google Reader (or any RSS service) to keep track of blogs.

If you do mean email, then I can certainly do that. The only real problem I can think of is that the email wouldn’t go out when “Subscriber-only” items are posted, such as every Tuesday morning. Would that be okay?
